This landmark public conversation features two visionary artists — Bahamian-born visual artist Tavares Strachan and Columbus native Hanif Abdurraqib, a critically acclaimed poet and cultural critic. Together, they’ll explore how culture is built, shared, and preserved.
After the talk, be among the first in Columbus to experience Tavares Strachan's new, permanent immersive installation at CMA at The Pizzuti at our First Look Party. We will celebrate its public unveiling with a party from 8-10pm featuring DJ sets by the artist himself as well as Sammy Macchiato.
Please note that seating for the talk is limited and not guaranteed, additional standing room will be available. Entrance to the program is free, admission to the galleries is optional and will be free for members and cost $5 for non-members.
We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully. To properly serve guests with disabilities, please request accommodations using this form. Providing notice two weeks in advance will better ensure we can make arrangements, but CMA will make every effort to provide all requested accommodations.
